SDSU High Tunnel and Cut Flower Field Day Held
On Aug. 21, 2024 SDSPA contractor, Morgan Hughes attended SDSU Extension’s high tunnel and cut flower field day. Attendees spent the morning visiting both Freedom Acres and Blue Dasher Farm who are both members of the SDSPA Cut Flower Growers Group!
The morning started off with Connie Johnson at Freedom Acres where attendees were able to tour the farm, hear about Connie’s journey to flower farming, and her high tunnel construction. Then attendees were invited to finish off the field day at Blue Dasher Farm where they saw the farm’s animals, learned about their caterpillar tunnel and incorporating flowers into landscaping.
