Specialty Crops Showcased at 2024 Washington Pavilion Ag Friday and Ag Day

On Saturday, Dirk Oudman from Blue Sky Vegetable Co was featured at the SDSPA booth. He shared information with attendees about their farm and CSA program.
On March 22nd and 23rd S.D. Specialty Producers Association (SDSPA) attended Ag Friday and Ag Day at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls. These events were a great opportunity for children and their families to learn more about agriculture in South Dakota through hands-on activities and interactive booths.
South Dakota agriculture was well represented with booths on beef, pork, dairy, fibers and crops. Between the two days SDSPA showcased specialty crops, reaching over 500 individuals including both adults and children.
At the SDSPA booth the children and families were able to start their own seeds, learn about types of specialty crops, germination, and what plants need to grow. This event provided an excellent opportunity to share about specialty crops, local food, and create connections with consumers.
