Poss Ranch Hosts Field Day on Pathways to Organic Beef
Pathways to Organic Beef was the topic of a field day held on Fri., Aug. 22, 2025 at the home ranch of Carl and Teresa Poss. Attendees heard how Carl hopes to transition his multi-generation beef operation into regenerative organic production.
Speakers Dr. Angela Jackson, SDSPA Organic Ag Advisor and Vermillion, S.D., producer and Pat Guptill, Quinn, S.D., rancher and former Grasslands Coalition board member, spoke from their experience with regenerative organic record-keeping, inspection and labeling, and rangeland management.
Participants enjoyed a pasture walk and the informal time for personal questions and answers.
