Producers Invited to Regenerative Organic Network Event
Join S.D. Specialty Producers Association for “From Soil to Market,” a networking event in collaboration with Rodale Institute, the Organic Trade Association, and the National Transition to Organic Partnership Program to connect organic and regenerative organic producers, transitioning farmers, and buyers of organic and regenerative food and feed ingredients on Tues., Sept. 30, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Veranda at The Meadow Barn in Harrisburg, SD.
This event will provide valuable insights into the market challenges and opportunities of organic transition, market demand for organic food, feed, and personal care ingredients, and sourcing regenerative and organic products.
Attendees will hear firsthand experiences from certified organic farmers and farmers transitioning to organic production including Steve Boyda, organic wheat farmer from Kansas and President of Organic Farmers’ Agency for Relationship Marketing (OFARM); Blake Burgraff, 465 Farmstead; Charlie Johnson, Johnson Farms and NFOrganics of Iowa member; Will Ortman, Berrybook Organics and SD representative from Central Plains Organic Farmer Association; and Glenn Pulse, Prairiesun Organics.
Farmer panelists will share how they navigated the organic transition process, share the challenges, rewards, and resources available for farmers moving toward regenerative organic production and discuss soil health, certification, financial considerations, and other lessons learned.
Attendees will engage with organic buyers, processors, and handlers seeking high-quality ingredients. A panel of organic food companies, grain and livestock feed buyers, and distributors will discuss current market trends, sourcing needs, pricing considerations, and supply chain expectations from key industry buyers. Panelists and attendees include Central Plains Organic Farmers Cooperative, OFARM, Rodale, NFO, Healthy Food Ingredients (HFI), Berrybrook Organics, and Prairiesun Organics.
Network with industry experts over a farm-fresh organic lunch and an organic ice cream social. Additionally, visit vendor tables to explore resources for transitioning farmers, certification support, and regenerative farming tools, and marketing opportunities.
