SDSPA Organic Operators Meeting- March 2026

The SDSPA Organic Operators will meet Wed., March 11th at 3 pm CT via Zoom.

Join Charlie Johnson as he provides approaches and methods of switching to organic farming practices.  Johnson Farms just completed its 50th season of farming the organic way. Charlie will share the successes and failures he has experienced over the years. Organic farming is not only possible but also profitable and a growth area for rural America.

Charlie Johnson is a 4th generation farmer from Madison, SD.  He farms with two brothers and a son.  Johnson Farms raises corn, oats, soybeans, and alfalfa on 2500 acres in southern Lake County, South Dakota.  The operation also maintains a 180 cow/calf herd.

The SDSPA Organic Operators Chapter meets the second Wednesday of each month at 3 pm CT. Paid SDSPA membership not required to participate.

Join for networking with other certified organic, organic regenerative, transitioning, or interested producers, for connecting with processors and buyers, for educational training, and to discuss in person events.
