Field Day at Albrecht’s Angel Honey Farm & Winery in Huron, SD. This event will discuss key topics on organic crop rotations essential for transitioning organic farmers.
The event begins with a discussion on crop rotations, focusing on strategies for farmers transitioning to organic practices. Experts will highlight the importance of diverse rotations. The event also explores the cultivation of aronia berries and grapes, emphasizing their use in producing wine and juice and their potential for high-value market opportunities as part of an organic crop system. A panel of experienced organic farmers will share their successful practices for implementing crop rotations in organic systems.
The day will conclude with a panel presentation from buyers, who will discuss effective marketing strategies for crops produced in organic rotations. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to optimize both production and marketability in their organic farming operations.
The day concludes with networking time during an organic buffalo roast dinner.
