Just south of Custer along Carroll Creek Rd., you can find Busy Ewe Farms. Your one stop for all things sheep, from farm to fiber. Brenda Anderson, shepherdess, raises Teeswater sheep and such for fiber, meat and fun. Brenda knows each ewe, lamb and ram by name and they know her. Teeswater sheep are known for a long fleece that is very strong and hard wearing. The fiber has a larger fiber diameter, longer staple, and not as tight crimp.

Sheep are available for sale. She can help you pick out your new stock. Starter flocks are available and she is great with offering advice and suggestions to make your operation successful. Lists and photos of available sheep are on the Busy Ewe Farms website.

Fiber art enthusiasts can find a little bit of heaven. Brenda has wool products available at all stages of processing from raw wool to ready to use yarn. Unique colors and shades are available with Brenda dying her own yarn. She has kits, tools, completed projects and commercial products available. 

Busy Ewe Farms can be found during the summers at the Custer Farmers Market, at the Quilted Buffalo Shop in Custer or you are welcome to visit the farm by appointment. If you visit the farm, make sure you take the time to visit and don’t forget to pet the dogs.
