SDSPA Showcases Specialty Crops at AgFest 2024
For the 10th consecutive year, SD Specialty Producers Association set up its booth at AgFest to share insights with state legislators, lobbyists, industry leaders.
AgFest, held on Feb. 5th in Pierre SD, is an annual event sponsored by the Ag Unity Coalition, serving as an important event for agricultural entities to converge and share insights with state legislators, lobbyists, and industry leaders.
This year marked the 10th consecutive year that South Dakota Specialty Producers Association (SDSPA) set up its booth, emphasizing the pivotal role of specialty crops and farmers markets in sustaining South Dakota’s local foods agricultural landscape.
Attendees had the opportunity to sample value-added goods sourced directly from Cedar Creek Gardens, LLC, owned by Peggy Martin and Bud Manke in Midland, SD, tantalizing taste buds with their pickled beets and asparagus.
For SDSPA, AgFest serves as a critical conduit for direct dialogue with policymakers, fostering relationships and amplifying the voices of local producers.
