Celebrate Local Produce During South Dakota Crunch Off

The South Dakota Crunch Off (Sept. 26th- Oct. 7th) is a statewide event to celebrate local produce and Farm to School by crunching into any South Dakota grown “crunchy” fruit or vegetable. Anyone, of any age, can participate. South Dakota will be competing against Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska (last year’s reigning champions), North Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming in the Mountain Plains Crunch Off to get the most crunches per capita.

We need you to register for your crunches to count! You can register on SDSU Extension’s South Dakota Crunch Off page.

On this page, you can also find the 2022 South Dakota Crunch Off Guide, Photo Signs, the South Dakota Crunch Flyer,  coloring pages, crosswords, a trivia game, nutrition lessons, and so much more. Soon we’ll be sharing an exciting, fun, and engaging video that includes several SDSPA members.  This video can be played during Crunch events to learn how they are growing local produce!

If you have any questions about the South Dakota Crunch Off, where to find produce, or how to host a Crunch Off event, please reach out to Anna Barr or Claudia Botzet.
