Capital City Farmers’ Market Celebrates National Farmers Market Week

The Capital City Farmers’ Market (CCFM) is celebrating National Farmers Market Week with a special chef event on Saturday, August 7 featuring Chef Uriah from Drifters Bar & Grille.

Thanks to a grant from South Dakota Specialty Producers Association, the CCFM is able to offer this free chef event to attendees at the farmers’ market this Saturday, August 7. Chef Uriah will offer samples of a locally sourced vegetarian dish and share the recipe so shoppers can replicate the meal at home.

The CCFM is in the middle its 13th market season. All vendors at the market make, grow, or raise the items they sell, truly making it a “local” market. The CCFM runs from mid-May through the end of October and features a Thanksgiving market the Saturday before Thanksgiving. All markets are held on Saturdays from 9am-noon, located in the parking lot on the corner of Sioux Avenue and Coteau Street in Pierre.

Anyone interested in receiving the market’s weekly email or becoming a vendor, should send a request to The weekly vendor list is also available at The CCFM is also on Facebook and Instagram.
