On Feb. 6 the South Dakota Specialty Producers Association (SDSPA) participated in AgFest, an event that showcases traditional and innovative approaches to agriculture. This annual event takes place in Pierre during the legislative session.

This year SDSPA showcased Cedar Creek Gardens, operated by Peggy Martin and Bud Manke in Midland, SD. They provided pickled asparagus to go with red beer and salsa with chips along with information about their production.

Ag Unity, a coalition of agriculture organizations, hosted the event, which was attended by legislators, lobbyists, and others who use the event to gain an informal perspective on what is going on across the state in agriculture.
